How to Keep a Baby Quiet

According to the baby books we've read, if you want to quiet down a crying baby you should:
1). Tie him up so he can't move (swaddle)
2.) Disorient him (bouncing/swinging)
3.) Drown out the crying with background noise ("shushing")
4.) Gag him (pacifier).
We find that the first three work pretty well. Actually, he does seem to sleep better with radio station set to "white noise".

And when all else fails, just cut off his air supply:

Actually, this is just Kai-Mei burping him. Despite his facial expression, he actually seems to like being held like that and having his back pounded.

the only way i would fall asleep as a baby was if i was placed on top of the washing machine! i'd tell you to do the same, but seeing that you have shared laundry facilities, the other EVians might think it's weird. ; )

Isaac is adorable - i wish you three the best!
